Gerardo Enciso joins the bunch of underlooked Mexican songwriter singers on his own category. With a foundation in Rock, Enciso's career started in Guadalajara, Jalisco a few years ago, where he is considered with high respect for his previous three mayor productions. For "Cuentos del Miedo" (Stories of Fear) he had been produced by BMG and for "Tarara" goes back to his usual independent roots; this cd carries various influences with a subtle, almost floating sound, and contrasts to a harder edge with parts of free jazzed intentionality accompanied by Alejandro Marcovich (ex Caifanes, Jaguares), Fernando Toussaint and other musicians of stature. Definately giving him a deserved definition as a great quality, unique songwriter. His precision in production must be envied by mere amateurs. This music proves Enciso's extraordinary voice as a pure, natural original. Highly recommended, as all his discography is.
